Ashish Gajurel Emphasizes Making Public Transportation Respectable and Reliable

National Socialist Party MP Ashish Gajurel has emphasized the need to make public transportation respectable and reliable enough to be used even by high-ranking officials. He stated that improving public transportation should be the foundation of prosperity and that road infrastructure must be made more human-friendly. Additionally, he advocated for the mandatory implementation of CCTV, GPS, and digital payment systems in public transit, along with compulsory inclusion of workers in the Social Security Fund. Ashish Gajurel, MP and Chairperson of the Infrastructure Development Committee, stressed the necessity of elevating public transportation standards to a level suitable for use by senior government officials. Speaking at the National Convention of the National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs, he highlighted that enhancing public transportation is key to economic development. He also expressed concern that current road infrastructure and investments are disproportionately focused on private vehicles.
MP Gajurel warned that the government is strictly monitoring to eliminate distortions and syndicate practices within the transportation sector. He urged entrepreneurs to maintain vehicles in proper condition and adhere to road safety standards to reduce accidents. Furthermore, he recalled that transport entrepreneurs have invested a total of NPR 1.3 trillion in the sector, providing direct employment to over 1.1 million people.
Gajurel identified road safety, public transportation improvements, and the construction of quality infrastructure as his primary agenda. He called for active cooperation from all stakeholders to successfully implement these initiatives.
