Australia Names T20 Squad for Bangladesh Series; Maxwell and Stoinis Absent

Australia has announced its squad for the upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh, with Mitchell Marsh appointed as captain. Following an outstanding performance in the Pakistan Super League, Aaron Hardie has been recalled to the team. Young player Joel Davies has been selected for the T20 side for the first time, while Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are notably absent.

Kathmandu, 28 April — Australia’s squad for the T20 international series against Bangladesh has been revealed, with Mitchell Marsh leading the team. The squad sees the return of Aaron Hardie, who earned his recall after impressive displays in the Pakistan Super League. Additionally, fast bowler Spencer Johnson has also returned to the side, along with the debutant Joel Davies.

However, experienced players Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis have not been included. Both have already retired from one-day internationals. Steve Smith is also absent from the T20 squad. Previously, Maxwell and Stoinis were not offered central contracts and their performances in the T20 World Cup were below expectations.
