João Cancelo Becomes First Player to Win League Titles in Four Different European Countries

Portuguese footballer João Cancelo has set a new record by winning league titles in four different European countries. He won the Serie A with Juventus in 2019, the Premier League with Manchester City in 2021 and 2022, and the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich in 2023. This season, by clinching the Spanish La Liga title with Barcelona, Cancelo has made history by securing league championships in Italy, England, Germany, and Spain.

On April 28, in Kathmandu, the 31-year-old defender João Cancelo achieved this remarkable milestone after winning the La Liga title with Barcelona this season. Cancelo has now won league titles with clubs from four of Europe’s top five leagues. His journey began with the Italian Serie A victory in 2019 with Juventus, followed by Premier League successes in 2021 and 2022 with Manchester City, and the Bundesliga triumph in 2023 with Bayern Munich.
