Dr. Shekhar Koirala Holds Discussions with Close Leaders Following Nomination of Central Members

Dr. Shekhar Koirala, leader of the Nepali Congress, has convened a meeting with his close associates for discussions. On Monday, party president Gagan Thapa nominated 19 leaders who did not participate in the special general convention as central members. The ongoing discussions at Koirala’s office include the nominated leaders Jeevan Pariyar, Dr. Govindraj Pokharel, Dinesh Koirala, and Urmila Thapliya. The meeting is being held in Kathmandu on 29th Baisakh.
The meeting was called by Koirala following the nominations of leaders who had not attended the special general convention. Alongside elected office bearers and central members from the 14th general convention, the dialogue is taking place at Koirala’s contact office in Vishalnagar. According to sources, the nominated central members Jeevan Pariyar, Dr. Govindraj Pokharel, Dinesh Koirala, and Urmila Thapliya attended the meeting. They conveyed to Koirala that no consultation was made with them prior to their nomination. President Thapa’s nominations include seven leaders aligned with Koirala’s faction among the total 19 appointees.
