Scotland Sets Nepal a Target of 244 Runs in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2; Sandeep Claims Four Wickets

In the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, Scotland has set Nepal a target of 244 runs. Scotland scored 243 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 50 overs, with George Munsey top-scoring with 75 runs. At the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, winning the toss, Scotland opted to bat first and completed their 50 overs with a total of 243 runs for 8 wickets. Opener George Munsey scored the highest with 75 runs, hitting 12 fours and 2 sixes off 62 balls. He shared a 114-run partnership for the first wicket with Kyle Coetzer.

Coetzer was dismissed for 35 runs off 62 balls. Both openers were dismissed by Sandeep Lamichhane in the same over, shifting the momentum back to Nepal. Following this, Brandon McMullen scored 7 runs off 9 balls, and captain Richie Berrington added 5 runs off 11 balls before getting out. At 128 runs, Scotland had lost four wickets when Matthew Cross and Michael Eccles put together a 44-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Cross was out after scoring 18 runs off 38 balls, while Eccles remained unbeaten on 34 runs off 72 balls. Mark Watt scored 24 runs off 18 balls and Michael Leask added 29 runs off 23 balls before both were dismissed. Jack Jarvis was out without scoring. Sandeep Lamichhane was particularly impressive with the ball for Nepal, completing his spell with 4 wickets for 41 runs, playing a key role in reviving Nepal’s chances. Karan KC and Nandan Yadav took two wickets each.
