Nepal Bar Association Condemns Supreme Court’s Refusal to Register Petitions as Obstruction to Justice

The Nepal Bar Association has raised concerns over the practice of not registering petitions submitted to the Supreme Court and instead returning them outright. The Bar describes this behavior as an obstruction to justice and calls for the immediate registration of petitions along with proper judicial resolution for those challenging such refusals. Kathmandu, 30 Baisakh.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Nepal Bar Association highlighted that for several days, petitions filed at the Supreme Court have been returned without registration, and petitions contesting such returns are not being registered. The Supreme Court administration’s silence and refusal to either register or return certain petitions has been criticized by the Bar as a hindrance to justice. Consequently, the Bar demands the prompt registration of all petitions and insists on ensuring judicial remedies for cases contesting returns.
