Chief Suspect in Bipin Ghimire Murder Held and Hospitalized Following Police Shooting

April 14, Kathmandu – The police have detained the main suspect involved in the afternoon murder of Bipin Ghimire in Kirtipur and are preparing to transfer him to the hospital. The chief suspect, Sujan Shahi, was apprehended by police on Thursday after they fired a shot during the arrest attempt. Shahi tried to escape, prompting police to shoot him below the knee to apprehend him. The injured suspect was taken to Bayodha Hospital in Balkhu by the police.
Earlier, the police had arrested three other individuals in connection with the murder of Bipin. Among them are 25-year-old Mahendra Shah from Sanfebagar Municipality-4, Achham district, currently residing in Bajangal, Kirtipur Municipality-9; 23-year-old Ravindra Dhami, originally from Bardagoriya Gaupalika-4 in Kailali district and living near Panga Dobato, Kirtipur; and 22-year-old Roshan Bisht, from Ghodaghodi Municipality-1 in Kailali district and residing near the cinema hall in Kirtipur Municipality-8.
This group is accused of killing 22-year-old Bipin Ghimire, a resident of Dhurkot Municipality-7 in Gulmi district who lived in Kirtipur Dhalpa, on April 6 at approximately 2:30 pm in Podetol, Kirtipur Municipality-10.
