May 19, Kathmandu – The proposed Chief Justice, Dr. Manoj Sharma, has been accused of nepotism. Parliamentary hearings on the matter began today.

Among the complainants, one has specifically leveled nepotism allegations against him.

Deliberations with the complainants are currently underway at the parliamentary hearing committee. Some have also questioned Sharma’s qualifications and capabilities.

A total of 16 complaints have been filed against him. “Only one person has raised the nepotism allegation; the other complaints do not include such accusations,” said a member of the hearing committee.

Several individuals have also voiced concerns regarding the overall dignity of the judiciary.
