Stock Market Gains 30 Points with Broad-Based Improvements Across All Indices

The stock market rose by 30.08 points (1.10 percent) on Wednesday, closing at 2,754 points. The total transaction value reached NPR 382 crore, exceeding the previous day’s volume. Upper Lhorhekhola Hydroelectric saw the highest price increase of 15 percent. Kathmandu, 6 Jestha — After dropping by 6 points the previous day, the stock market rebounded with a gain of 30 points on Wednesday. The NEPSE index rose 30.08 points (1.10 percent), settling at 2,754 points, which was also the highest level during the trading session. Market turnover also expanded, rising from NPR 308 crore the day before to NPR 382 crore today. The market maintained its upward momentum from opening through closing. Among listed companies, 21 saw their share prices decline, 248 recorded gains, and one company (NLG) remained unchanged. All sectoral indices advanced, with Hydropower and Hotels & Tourism sectors posting the highest increases of 1.89 percent each. Other sector gains included Banking (0.73%), Development Banks (0.44%), Finance (1.40%), Investment (1.15%), Life Insurance (0.97%), Manufacturing & Processing (1.15%), Microfinance (0.62%), Non-life Insurance (0.44%), Others (1.09%), and Commerce (1.51%). Upper Lhorhekhola Hydroelectric led the day’s price movements with a 15% increase. Mountain Hydro Nepal rose 11.88%, Bungul Hydro advanced 7.51%, Shikhar Power gained 6.12%, and City Hotel increased by 5.90%. On the downside, Corporate Development Bank experienced the largest drop of 13.26%. Bottlers Nepal Balaju fell by 3%, and Kutheli Bukhripower declined 2.07%. Among the highest turnover stocks today were Corporate Development Bank, Aankhukhola Hydroelectric, API Power, Ridi Power, and National Hydropower.
