Four UML Vice Presidents Demand Leadership Change in Party Meeting

May 22, Kathmandu – At a secretariat meeting of the UML party, four vice presidents called for a leadership change and generational transition. Vice Presidents Bishnu Paudel, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Gokarna Bista, and Raghuji Pant expressed their demand for change. Vice President Rambahadur Thapa spoke in support of the current leadership under Oli, and the meeting was subsequently adjourned.

During the meeting, the five vice presidents present concluded that the party cannot be transformed under Oli’s leadership. They emphasized the urgent need for party reforms and generational change. “We have raised the issue of change,” one vice president stated, “and other party leaders have yet to express their views on this matter.” Following the vice presidents’ statements, the meeting was suspended for the day.
