Supreme Court Orders Completion of Investigation into Durga Prasai by Monday

8 Jestha, Kathmandu – The Supreme Court has directed that the investigation into medical professional Durga Prasai be completed by the extended deadline for the second time. The directive came from a bench comprising Justices Binod Sharma and Nityananda Pandey during the hearing of a writ petition filed on behalf of Prasai against his preventive detention at the Supreme Court. The Parsa District Police Office had extended the investigation period by four days yesterday (Thursday).

According to a spokesperson from the Parsa police, the second extension will expire on Monday. Within this timeframe, the authorities have been ordered to finalize the investigation and decide whether to proceed with the case or not. If necessary, the court also instructed that bail may be granted. Prasai was arrested by police in Parsa and remains in custody at the Parsa Police Station.
