Cockroach Janata Party Calls for Protest in Bengaluru; Police Warn Against Gathering

May 21, Kathmandu – The Bengaluru city police in India have appealed to the public on Sunday to avoid gathering in the Town Hall area. This warning comes amidst circulating calls on social media for a program organized under the name of the Cockroach Janata Party at Town Hall.
The Cockroach Janata Party has announced plans to hold a ‘Peaceful Human Chain’ at Town Hall on Sunday on behalf of Karnataka. However, the city police stated that no official permission has been granted for this event.
Furthermore, the police claimed that no authorization was obtained from the Greater Bengaluru Authority either. Citing an order from the Karnataka High Court, the police noted, “No type of protest or program is allowed within the city limits. A free park (Freedom Park) has been made available for all kinds of demonstrations.”
Authorities have cautioned that activities involving gathering or protesting near Town Hall would violate the court order. The police advised, “We urge the public not to knowingly or unknowingly share or circulate such messages on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, or Twitter, and to avoid approaching the Town Hall area.”
