Young Man Found Unconscious Near Jhapa Bus Park Rescued with Over One Lakh Rupees in Cash

Police in Mechinagar-6, Jhapa, rescued 32-year-old Hari Thapa from Palpa, who was found unconscious near the bus park with Rs 118,000 in cash. The recovered cash has been secured at the Kankadbhitta Police Station. Despite being discharged from the hospital, Thapa has not yet made contact with the police.

On May 24, reporters were informed by Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson for the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police, that Hari Thapa of Rampur Rural Municipality-2 in Palpa was found lying unconscious on the road near Mechinagar Municipality-6 bus park, around 6 p.m. on Saturday due to excessive consumption of intoxicants. The Kankadbhitta Police Office promptly rescued him along with the cash amounting to Rs 118,000.

After rescue, Thapa was immediately taken to Amda Hospital in Dhulabari for treatment. Although he was discharged from the hospital, he has not yet contacted the police, according to DSP Khadka. The police have also tried to reach him via his mobile phone, but the calls have gone unanswered. The recovered money is securely held at the Kankadbhitta Police Station and will be entrusted to him once he makes contact. Having returned recently from India, Thapa had already purchased a ticket from the Nepal-India bus service to travel to Kathmandu by night bus on Saturday. However, under the influence of intoxicants, he missed his bus.
