Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav is preparing to expand the Madhesh Province government by appointing three UML lawmakers as ministers. The new ministers will include Sharadadevi Thapa, Manojkumar Singh, and Lakhan Das, while Mohammad Samir, already a minister without portfolio, will also be assigned responsibilities. The swearing-in ceremony, postponed on Sunday due to unresolved disagreements within the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) over the nine-point agreement, is now scheduled to proceed today. Dated Jestha 11, Janakpur Dham — Despite dissatisfaction within the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), the expansion of the Madhesh Province government has commenced. Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav plans to appoint UML provincial lawmakers Sharadadevi Thapa, Manojkumar Singh, and Lakhan Das as ministers and have them sworn in by the Province Chief today. Alongside them, Mohammad Samir, who took oath as a minister without portfolio last Thursday, will be entrusted with additional responsibilities. The nine-point agreement remained unsigned, fueling discontent within the NCP. Last Thursday, a new governing coalition was formed in Madhesh among UML, Congress, and NCP. Although there were preparations to expand the government on Sunday, dissatisfied NCP members caused UML provincial lawmakers who had come for the oath-taking to withdraw disappointedly.
