May 26, Rautahat – A motorcycle rider was killed instantly after being struck by a bus along the Mahendra Highway in Chandranigahpur, Rautahat.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Sheikh Ghulam from Ward No. 1, Paurai of Chandrapur Municipality, riding motorcycle number Na 25 Pa 1080.

The incident occurred when a passenger bus bearing registration number Na 5 Kha 7248, traveling from east to west, collided with Sheikh Ghulam’s motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, police reported.

The bus driver, Lakshmibhat Ojha from Ward No. 3, Gadhi Rural Municipality, Makwanpur, along with the bus involved in the collision, has been taken into custody by the Chandranigahpur Police Station. The body of Sheikh Ghulam has been kept at Chandranigahpur Hospital, said Traffic Police Inspector Rajendra Thapa Magar of the District Traffic Police Office.
