Iran and Kazakhstan Clash for Title, Nepal and India Compete for Third Place in CABA Women’s Volleyball Championship

The final of the CABA Women’s Volleyball Championship is set for today at the Dasarath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, featuring a showdown between Kazakhstan and Iran. Both teams advanced to the final after decisive 3-0 victories in the semifinals, with Kazakhstan defeating India and Iran overcoming Nepal.

The third-place match will take place today at 1 PM between the semifinal runners-up, Nepal and India. The championship final between Kazakhstan and Iran will begin later at 4:30 PM at the same venue.

In their semifinal matches, Kazakhstan defeated India with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, and 25-14, while Iran secured a straight-set victory over Nepal with scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-11.

Notably, Iran and Kazakhstan, the previous champions, also faced off in the group stage, where Iran won in straight sets. Iran aims to maintain that momentum and secure the championship title once more. Kazakhstan player Kristina Belova acknowledged that their weaknesses in the group stage contributed to their loss against Iran.

Meanwhile, Nepal and India, who were defeated in the semifinals, will compete at 1 PM for third place. Nepal lost their group stage opener against India in a tight 3-2 match. With several new players and lessons learned from the initial encounter, Nepal is determined to overcome India and claim the third position in the tournament.
