Charges Dropped After Woman Without Right Hand Accused of Driving While Using Phone in Florida

In Palm Beach, Florida, a woman was stopped by a police officer on suspicion of driving while holding a phone in her right hand. Kathleen Thomas revealed that she does not have her right hand, yet she was still charged with violating traffic regulations. The incident occurred in February.
However, this week, the officer has begun the process to dismiss the charges against Kathleen. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office stated, “The officer stopped the vehicle based on what was observed,” but after further investigation and clarification on how any traffic law was violated, they are preparing to withdraw the case.
