Nepal is slated to face defending champions Bangladesh in the semifinal of the ongoing SAFF Women’s Championship in Goa, India. The semifinal lineup was confirmed after India defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in the final match of Group B. Nepal advanced as the winner of Group A, while Bangladesh finished as the runner-up of Group B.
Nepal, having lost to Bangladesh in the finals of the last two editions, now has an opportunity for revenge at the semifinal stage. The SAFF Women’s Championships held in Kathmandu in 2022 and 2024 saw Nepal fall to Bangladesh in the final, denying them the title. In the other semifinal clash, India will compete against Bhutan. Nepal and Bhutan have advanced as the winner and runner-up from Group A respectively, while India and Bangladesh progressed as Group B winner and runner-up. The semifinal matches are scheduled for Tuesday.
