Speaker Aryal Expresses Frustration Over Lack of Opposition Support in Parliament

May 31, Kathmandu – Dol Prasad Aryal (DP), Speaker of the House of Representatives, has voiced his frustration over the lack of necessary cooperation from opposition parties to resolve the issues within parliament. This remark came after opposition parties obstructed the House session on Monday in protest against Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen)’s statements.

Speaker Aryal shared his views in parliament, explaining that despite repeatedly urging opposition members for dialogue, he has been unable to find a suitable time for discussion. He emphasized that as Speaker, he has prioritized communication but has continued to face disregard from opposition factions.

Furthermore, Aryal asserted that the process to pass the House rules on Sunday was conducted properly, following constitutional and procedural guidelines. He clarified that his role as Speaker is limited to presenting amendments on bills for decision-making. He also conveyed that the parliamentary procedures are being managed in an orderly manner without violating any rules.
