Zee Entertainment Secures Broadcasting Rights for 39 FIFA Events Including 2026 World Cup

India’s Zee Entertainment has acquired the broadcasting rights for 39 FIFA competitions from 2026 to 2034. These contests will be broadcast live through the company’s new sports network, Unite8 Sports, and Zee5. Puneet Goenka, CEO of Zee Entertainment, expressed excitement about bringing some of the world’s biggest sporting events to Indian viewers.

Kathmandu, May 31 – Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited of India has secured the exclusive broadcasting rights for 39 FIFA tournaments in India, covering the period from 2026 through 2034. This includes the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026, FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, and the FIFA World Cup 2030. The FIFA broadcasting journey for Zee will kick off with the 2026 World Cup starting June 11th in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Matches from these tournaments will be aired on Zee’s dedicated sports network, Unite8 Sports, as well as on Zee5’s streaming platform. In addition to live games, viewers will have access to highlights, analysis shows, exclusive features, and FIFA-related documentaries. Puneet Goenka highlighted football’s ability to connect diverse regional and age audiences, stating that acquiring these broadcast rights and running a dedicated sports channel demonstrates the company’s belief in football’s long-term potential. Previously, Zee launched four sports channels under the Unite8 brand: Unite8 Sports 1, Unite8 Sports 1 HD, Unite8 Sports 2, and Unite8 Sports 2 HD. These channels will now serve as the official broadcasters for FIFA events in India.
