May 2, Kathmandu – The prices of gold and silver rose on Tuesday. The Nepal Gold and Silver Traders Association reported an increase of NPR 400 per tola in gold and NPR 50 per tola in silver.
The association set the gold price at NPR 311,300 per tola, up from NPR 310,900 the previous day.
Following the budget decision to increase customs duty on gold from 10% to 20%, the price of gold rose by NPR 20,500 in a single day on Sunday.
Similarly, the price of silver increased by NPR 50 per tola, reaching NPR 5,405 from the previous NPR 5,355.
