House of Representatives Meeting Delayed Despite Scheduled 1 PM Start

File photo summary of the news. The House of Representatives meeting scheduled for Jestha 19 has been delayed following opposition parties’ demand for evidence regarding Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s statements on the border dispute. The opposition insists that if the Prime Minister spoke without facts, an apology is necessary, but the ruling Janata Samajwadi Party’s refusal to agree has affected the meeting’s commencement.

The meeting, set to begin at 1 PM today, had not started even by 2:30 PM. Opposition parties are insisting on factual evidence concerning Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s remarks on the border dispute, a demand opposed by the ruling party, the National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party – RASWA).

The agenda for today includes the Speaker reading out the letter regarding bill certification received from the President’s office. Additionally, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagley is scheduled to present a proposal for a general discussion on the annual revenue and expenditure estimates for fiscal year 2083/084. Preparations are underway to start the general discussion on revenue and expenditure estimates today. However, the meeting itself has not been able to commence on time.
