Police Issue Advisory After Release of Video in Rama Tiwari Murder Case

May 20, Biratnagar – Following the release of video interviews with various individuals by a content creator concerning the murder of 21-year-old Rama Tiwari (Roma) from Damak, Jhapa, the police have issued a statement urging the public not to spread misleading and unverified information. The District Police Office in Jhapa emphasized that releasing speculative information amidst ongoing investigations could seriously hamper the inquiry.

According to the police, disclosing sensitive details without official confirmation could adversely affect the justice process. On May 16, the body of Rama Tiwari from Basant Tol, Damak-8, was found wrapped in a sack and dumped in the Ratuwa River near Setumari, Damak-10. She had been missing for three days before being discovered deceased.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Basnet of the Damak Area Police Office stated that a thorough investigation is underway. Suspected individuals are being questioned, and the inquiry is focused on analyzing call details from the victim’s mobile phone alongside tracking the activities of suspicious persons. He also indicated that the investigation is approaching a conclusion.
