The Passport Home Delivery Service counter has now been set up in Rolpa. This service was introduced to facilitate passport delivery to service users through the postal system. The new service started on Tuesday through the coordinated efforts of the District Administration Office and the District Post Office of Rolpa. The objective is to provide convenient, safe, and efficient services to residents in remote and inaccessible areas.
Gangabahadur Kshetri, Chief District Officer of Rolpa, stated that the government aims to eliminate the hassle of citizens repeatedly visiting the district administration office to obtain passports by delivering the service directly to their doorsteps. He said, “From Tuesday onward, we have started the ‘Passport Home Delivery Service Counter’ in Rolpa. In line with the Government of Nepal’s goals, I am confident that this service will be effective in this hilly district.”
For the operation of the service, a dedicated counter has been established in room number 102 at the District Administration Office of Rolpa. According to the administration, this counter will manage all processes related to sending passports to residents’ homes. Yubaraj Pariyar, Chief of the District Post Office of Rolpa, mentioned that the aim is to enhance the effectiveness of citizen services. He added, “In the initial phase, we are delivering services up to the local level centers. Since current manpower is limited, we are planning to arrange additional staff to expand the home delivery service.”
Rolpa is geographically a remote district, and many citizens have to travel long distances to obtain routine administrative services. A joint agreement to operate the ‘Passport Home Delivery Service Counter’ was signed between the District Administration Office and the District Post Office of Rolpa on 12 Jestha. Rolpa consists of one municipality and nine rural municipalities, making a total of 10 local levels and 72 wards.
