
20 Jestha, Rolpa – Two children lost their lives after being swept away by a flash flood in the Khahare River in Ratamata area, Gangadev Rural Municipality-6, Rolpa district. On Wednesday evening, the flash flood struck as the children were returning home from school. The victims were 7-year-old Gopal Khadka, son of Nimbahadur Khadka, and 6-year-old Samir KC, son of Sarvajeet Khatri, both residents of Ratamata. The incident was reported around 5:45 pm (quarter to 6), after which police from the Jinawang Area Police Office immediately reached the site. Additional teams from the Ghartigaun Area Police Office also joined the rescue efforts, according to Inspector Sunil Thapa Nepali, Public Information Officer of the Rolpa District Police Office.
