Congress Deputy Secretary Gajendra Rai of Panchthar to Leave Party and Join Labour Shakti Party

May 21, Panchthar – Gajendra Rai, the Deputy Secretary of Nepali Congress in Panchthar, has announced his decision to leave the Nepali Congress. In a video message shared on Facebook, he stated that he is ending his political journey with the Nepali Congress. Rai declared that he has resigned from the general membership of the Congress and is preparing to join the Labour Shakti Party. It is reported that on May 23, in his own village, Jebhale, he will be formally inducted into the Labour Shakti Party by its chairman, Hark Sampang. The party is making extensive preparations to organize the event on a large scale.
Rai, who has also been active in social sectors, is expected to have an impact on the Congress following his departure, while leaders and activists of the Labour Shakti Party are enthusiastic about his joining. He has expressed his intention to continue both social service and his political career through the new party. Rai was elected as Deputy Secretary during the 14th General Convention and had openly supported the special convention faction within Congress.
