
In the past 24 hours, disaster incidents across various parts of the country have resulted in the deaths of five individuals and injuries to eleven others. Three people were killed by snake bites in Rautahat, Bara, and Kapilvastu, while two children drowned due to a flash flood in Rolpa. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, five deaths have been confirmed from disaster incidents in different parts of the country over the past 24 hours. These fatalities occurred in the districts of Rautahat, Bara, Kapilvastu, and Rolpa. Additional injuries—eleven in total—were reported in Makwanpur, Morang, Siraha, Parsa, Chitwan, Kapilvastu, Dang, Palpa, and Kanchanpur, spokesperson Shanti Mahat said.
Spokesperson Mahat stated that in Rautahat, Bara, and Kapilvastu, a woman, a boy, and a girl died after being bitten by snakes. Two children lost their lives in Gangadev Rural Municipality of Rolpa district after being swept away by a flash flood, according to the authority’s statement. She further noted that a total of 25 disaster incidents were reported within the last 24 hours across various districts, causing physical damage valued at over NPR 6.3 million.
