22 Jestha, Kathmandu – Dr. Dubasu Kshetri and Dr. Gargi Sharma were honored at the Poet Siddhicharan Award ceremony. The special event was held at the President’s residence, Sheetal Niwas, where the awards were presented.

On the occasion of the 115th birth anniversary of poet Siddhicharan Shrestha, Dr. Kshetri received the award for the year 2025 AD (Nepali year 2082), and Dr. Sharma was honored for 2026 AD (Nepali year 2083). The event also featured various cultural performances.

Presiding over the ceremony, President Ramchandra Paudel emphasized that the Nepali language, literature, and culture represent a distinctive identity and source of pride for the nation.

He analyzed that literary creation is not merely an expression of emotions but a crucial medium capable of awakening, sensitizing, and enlightening society.

“Literature inspires our society, livelihoods, democracy, transformation, change, patriotism, and social justice, contributing significantly to the development of a civilized and cultured community. It unites communities, raises awareness, and propels us toward a brighter future,” President Paudel stated.

The President also recalled and honored poet Siddhicharan Shrestha’s contributions towards the growth of Nepali language, literature, public awareness, and national sentiment.

President Paudel regarded Siddhicharan’s poem ‘Mero Pyaro Okhaldhunga’—which expresses deep love for his birthplace, faith in the nation, and sensitivity toward the lives of the people—as an unforgettable expression of profound patriotism.
