23 Jestha, Baglung – A laborer working at a hydropower construction site in Tarakhola Rural Municipality has died after being crushed by an iron pipe. The victim, 20-year-old Dil Bahadur Bik from Sunchahari Rural Municipality–3, Rolpa district, was employed at the project located in Thasmar, Tarakhola Rural Municipality–5.
Bik sustained serious injuries when the pipe fell from a dozer and struck him. He was taken to Emergency Hospital in Hatya, Galkot Municipality–3 for treatment, where he passed away on Saturday afternoon, according to district police chief Phanindra Prasad Prasai.
The dozer operator has been taken into custody, and Bik’s body remains at the same hospital.
