Minister Lamsal Conducts On-Site Inspection of Kanchanpur-Kamala Road Project

June 6, Saptari – Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Sunil Lamsal, carried out an on-site inspection of the under-construction Kanchanpur–Kamala road on Saturday. During the inspection, Minister Lamsal stated that the project involves expanding the road into a four-lane highway spanning 86.83 kilometers from Kamala in Siraha to Kanchanpur in Saptari district. The prolonged delay in the road’s completion has caused considerable difficulties for local residents.
The Railway Number 2 Engineering Group was awarded the contract with a stipulation to complete the work within three years. However, despite five years having passed, the road construction remains unfinished. Due to these delays, dust becomes a problem during the dry season and mud issues arise during the rainy season. Minister Lamsal visited the Kanchanpur Barrier area in Kanchanpur Municipality-8, Saptari, where he evaluated the progress, quality, and overall performance of the construction work. During the inspection, he instructed representatives of the construction company to complete the project on time and maintain high quality standards.
