Bhandari secured victory at the party’s inaugural district convention held on Saturday, receiving 341 votes. His opponents, Lakshman Basnet and Arjun Kumar Mainali, received 247 votes and 25 votes respectively.
Pushpalal Dhakal was elected as the district committee’s vice-chairperson.
Dhakal won with 210 votes against Shanta Tamang’s 198 votes, Lila Khadka’s 111 votes, and Dev Sangroula’s 93 votes. Birodh Subedi and Bhim Bahadur Kunwar were elected as secretary and deputy secretary respectively.
