Nepal Electricity Authority Employee Seriously Injured by Electric Shock in Gulmi

While performing electrical repairs in Hwangdi-3, Malika Rural Municipality, Gulmi, Nepal Electricity Authority employee Surya Bahadur Thapa suffered a severe electric shock. The 30-year-old Thapa fell down a ravine after being electrocuted while climbing a pole for maintenance work, sustaining serious injuries to his head and body. The injured employee was immediately rescued and sent to the District Hospital in Tamghas for treatment, according to the District Police Office Gulmi.
May 7, Gulmi – A Nepal Electricity Authority worker was seriously injured by electric shock while repairing electrical lines in Hwangdi-3, Malika Rural Municipality, Gulmi. According to the District Police Office Gulmi, at approximately 2:30 PM on Sunday, 30-year-old Surya Bahadur Thapa, a resident of Chapahi-5, Malika Rural Municipality and employee of Nepal Electricity Authority Gulmi, was working on a pole when he was electrocuted. Following the electric shock, he fell roughly 500 meters down a ravine, sustaining injuries to his forehead and various parts of his body, informed DSP Birendra Bir Bishwakarma. Upon receiving the incident report, a police team from Arkhabang Police Post promptly arrived at the scene and transported Thapa to Tamghas District Hospital for immediate medical treatment. The Nepal Electricity Authority Gulmi branch has also been notified about the incident. Further investigation is ongoing.
