Electricity Authority Worker Dies During Treatment After Electrocution Incident

Suryabahadur Thapa, an employee of the electricity authority in Gulmi, died during medical treatment after being electrocuted while performing maintenance work in Malika Rural Municipality-3. The 30-year-old was working on a utility pole when he was electrocuted and fell down a cliff. He passed away at the District Hospital in Tamghas. May 7, Gulmi.

The incident occurred in the Hwangdi area of Malika Rural Municipality-3, where Thapa, 30, of Chapahile, Malika Rural Municipality-5, was repairing electrical lines. Around 2:30 pm on Sunday, he was climbing a power pole to carry out maintenance when he was suddenly electrocuted.

After being shocked, Thapa fell approximately 500 meters down a cliff, sustaining severe injuries. A police team from Arkhabang police post rescued him and transported him to the District Hospital Tamghas for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries around 6:50 pm, according to DSP Birendra Veer Bishwakarma. The authorities are conducting further investigation, and the body has been kept at the district hospital in Tamghas.
