Marbles, Manakamana, and Kashyap Schools Win Annapurna Chess Tournament Titles

May 7, Kathmandu – In the 21st Annapurna Chess Tournament, Manakamana School, Jorpati secured first place in the over-13 age group. Similarly, Marbles School claimed the top position in the under-13 age group. Kashyap Academy emerged as champions in the under-11 category, while the hosts, Annapurna School, took first place in the under-9 age group.

In the girls under-9 category, Shubha Shree Shrestha from Mahalaxmi Academy won first place, Imsika Shrestha of Bhanu Secondary School secured second, and Ritikka Sedhai from Deepjyoti Residential Secondary School finished third. For the girls under-11 age group, Glossy Shrestha of Future Star Academy claimed first, Prashansa Chaudhary from Kashyap Academy took second, and Yashaswi Maharjan of Samriddhi School earned third place.

In the girls under-13 group, Nihana Shrestha of Marbles School won first place, followed by Sonalika Saraf from the same school in second, and Ojaswi Shrestha of host Annapurna School in third. For the over-13 girls category, Paridhi Khatri from Triyog School secured first, Asmita Dahal from Manakamana School second, and Jigyasa Khanal third.

The victorious teams and players were awarded prizes by Yogesh Kumar Khadgi, Chairperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan Ward No. 27; Dinesh Shrestha, Chairperson of the School Management Committee; Principal Chandra Prakash Raj Bhandari; Dr. Sagha Ratna Bajracharya; Dil Chandrananda Vaidya, member of the School Management Committee; and international arbiter Maheshwar Lal Dangol.
