
Summary: Citing health issues, CPN-UML leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will not participate in the multi-party meeting convened by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa will also be absent, with Bhishma Raj Angdembe and Firdosh Alam representing the party instead. RSP Chairman Ravi Lamichhane has called the meeting for 9 AM today at Singha Durbar.
CPN-UML Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is currently resting at home due to health complications and will be unable to attend the RSP’s multi-party meeting. RSP co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal and leader Barsaman Pun Anant will attend the meeting on behalf of the party. Prachanda was hospitalized a few days ago due to pneumonia and has since been under treatment. According to Prachanda’s secretariat, as he still remains weak, he has decided to skip the meeting. He has entrusted leaders Madhav Nepal and Barsaman Pun to articulate his party’s stance during the discussions.
Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa will also not attend the meeting. Instead, the party will be represented by parliamentary leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe and Member of Parliament Firdosh Alam, according to a party official. Returning from an India visit, RSP chairman Ravi Lamichhane has scheduled the multi-party meeting for 9 AM today in the Public Accounts Committee hall at Singha Durbar. According to RSP General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the meeting has been called to discuss current political issues. Party presidents or chairs, along with two representatives from political parties represented in the House of Representatives and National Assembly, have been invited to participate.
