Trump Walks Out of Interview, Calls Reporter and Network ‘Dishonest and Foolish’

US President Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with the prominent American TV channel NBC after a series of probing questions. During his conversation with journalist Kristen Welker, Trump chose to walk out following inquiries about his statements. He expressed strong dissatisfaction, sharply criticizing the media, former President Joe Biden, and California’s election system. On NBC News’ ‘Meet the Press,’ Trump described the media as “fake, filthy, and dishonest.”
Trump accused former President Joe Biden and his administration of abusing the Oval Office to ruin lives and imprison innocent people. He called Biden “a fool” and said, “He is oblivious to the circumstances around him, but those who surround him have ruined people’s lives.”
When questioned by the journalist about his allegations of election fraud, Trump claimed to have evidence supporting his accusations. He alleged widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election and in the ongoing voting process in California. He specifically cited delays in vote counting as proof of deception. When the journalist asked for verification of these claims, Trump grew agitated, creating tension in the interview. “There is no evidence to support your claim,” the reporter said. Trump retorted, “There is abundant evidence; you just have to look.”
Following the reporter’s insistence on the lack of proof, Trump intensified his personal attacks. He said, “You are either dishonest or a fool. You are dancing to their tune. Your channel knows there was election fraud.” Trump also accused media outlets such as NBC and CNN of acting against national interests by spreading unsubstantiated allegations after his unprecedented victory. Ultimately, he said, “Our country will never be great with such a dishonest press.” Angered by what he regarded as a third-world election system, Trump ended the interview in a fit of rage and exited.
