Abhishek Baral has been selected to represent Nepal in Taekwondo at the 20th Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. According to the Nepal Taekwondo Association, Abhishek will compete in the men’s 80 kg weight category.
Abhishek previously competed at the 27th Asian Taekwondo Championships held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from May 21 to 24. Alongside Abhishek, a total of seven athletes—three men and four women—represented Nepal at the event. The Nepal Taekwondo Association is currently working to include additional athletes in the Asian Games through wild card entries.
In the Taekwondo event of the Asian Para Games, historic Paris Paralympics bronze medalist Palesha Govardhan has already been selected based on her world ranking.
