June 8, Khotang – In Khotang, a ward chairperson who was elected twice under the CPN-UML banner has decided to leave the party. Dinesh Rai, ward chairperson of Buipa, Ward No. 14, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, has quit the UML party.
Rai was elected to the ward chairperson position in 2017 and again in 2022. He announced his departure from the party on June 8 via Facebook.
Rai emphasized that his decision to leave was driven by his own political ideology, values, and beliefs, and not due to any request, prejudice, or dissatisfaction with anyone.
Starting his political journey in 2007 (2064 BS) as an organized member of UML, Rai has held several important roles, including district member and district chairperson of the Youth Federation, central secretariat member, district in-charge, and youth federation in-charge positions.
