Spain took the lead early, with Oyarzabal scoring in the second minute. In the 32nd minute, Pedri doubled the lead by finishing a cross from Ferran Torres at the far post.
Early in the second half, Spain added a third goal due to an error by goalkeeper Gallese during a clearance of another Yeremi Pino cross. Although Velaz scored for Peru, it was not enough to prevent their defeat.
