Reports indicate that US President Trump urged Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to halt retaliatory actions against Iran, revealing differences between the US and Israel. However, Trump insisted that any agreement with Iran must mandatorily be accepted by Netanyahu.
US Ambassador to Lebanon Michele Isace stated that there are disagreements between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu concerning Lebanon-related issues. According to Isace, the US seeks to prevent further escalation of the conflict, which led to intense discussions between Trump and Netanyahu over Lebanon. This suggests that while the US aims to reduce regional tensions, disagreements remain regarding Israel’s actions.
The prospect of increasing conflict between Iran and Israel and potential future tensions have resulted in a rise in crude oil prices in international markets. Investors worry that rising tensions in the Middle East could disrupt oil supplies. Currently, Brent crude oil is trading at $94.38 per barrel and WTI crude oil at $91.41 per barrel.
