One Killed in Rear-End Collision with Truck in Lamahi, Dang

A 37-year-old man, Jeevan Giri from Lamahi Municipality–7, died after his motorcycle collided with a truck parked on the roadside in Lamahi, Dang. Another passenger on the motorcycle, 32-year-old Dhaniram Chaudhary, was injured and is currently receiving treatment at Rapti Health Science Institute, Ghorahi.

The incident occurred this morning in Ratodanda, Lamahi–5, along the East-West Highway, involving a truck bearing registration number Na 5 Kha 9336 and a motorcycle, according to the local police office. (Date: 26 Jestha, Lamahi)

The truck with registration number Na 5 Kha 9336 had broken down and was stationary by the roadside when, at approximately 4 a.m., a motorcycle with registration number Lu 12 Pa 9840 hit it from behind. The police office reported that the motorcycle driver, Jeevan Giri, approximately 37 years old and a resident of Hasanapur in Lamahi Municipality–7, was declared dead by doctors at Lamahi Hospital after being seriously injured in the crash.

Dhaniram Chaudhary, also about 32 years old and from the same area, was injured as well and is undergoing treatment at Rapti Health Science Institute in Ghorahi. The Lamahi Police Office has confirmed that an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
