Nepalese Team Returns Home After Winning Asian Games Cricket Qualifiers

After winning the Asian Games men’s cricket qualifiers held in Singapore, the Nepalese cricket team returned home on Tuesday. Nepal defeated Hong Kong in the final held on Monday and secured the championship title undefeated. The team has already qualified for the Asian Games scheduled to be held in Japan this September.

Nepalese captain Dipendra Singh Airee and Sandeep Lamichhane have already left for Belgium to participate in the EU T20 League. On the evening of 26th Jestha, the Nepalese cricket team, victorious at the Asian Games men’s cricket qualifiers in Singapore, arrived in Kathmandu. In the final match played on Monday afternoon, Nepal defeated Hong Kong via the DLS method, emerging as unbeaten champions. Nepal’s Kushal Bhurtel was declared the tournament’s best player. However, captain Dipendra Singh Airee and leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane did not return with the team, as both traveled to Belgium to compete in the EU T20 League. The Nepalese team has secured its spot to represent the country at the Asian Games cricket competition to be held in Japan this September.
