Fugitive Robbery Suspects Arrested in Kathmandu

Police have arrested Himal Bajra Lama and Ghanu Bal, who were fugitives in connection with a robbery case from Kathmandu. They are accused of stealing property worth NPR 1,183,000 in Rautahat. Authorities have also disclosed that Ghanu Bal faces an additional charge of rape registered in Makwanpur.

May 11, Kathmandu – The fugitive suspects involved in a robbery have been apprehended. Himal Bajra Lama, 32, from Ward 4 of Bahrabise Municipality, Sindhupalchok, and Ghanu Bal, 51, from Ward 3 of Manohari Rural Municipality, Makwanpur, were arrested by the team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

According to police, the group allegedly committed the robbery on April 26, 2083 BS (mid-April 2026 AD) in Rautahat, where they stole items valued at NPR 1,183,000 from an individual. The arrested suspects have been transferred to Rautahat. Additionally, a rape complaint has been filed against Ghanu Bal in Makwanpur.
