Nepal Basketball Association Renews Sponsorship with Li-Ning for Four Years, Unveils New National Team Jerseys

June 11, Kathmandu – The Nepal Basketball Association (NEBA) has extended its sponsorship deal with the Chinese sports equipment manufacturer Li-Ning.

On Thursday, NEBA renewed its sponsorship contract for another four years with Li-Ning’s official distributor in Nepal, China Trading Company (CTC).

A four-year agreement had originally been established in 2022, which both parties have now agreed to extend for an additional four years, NEBA President Bhim Singh Gurung announced.

The renewal contract was signed by Bhim Singh Gurung, President of Nepal Basketball Association, and Rajen Maharjan, CEO of China Trading Company (CTC).

The signing ceremony was also attended by Ramcharitra Mehta, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Siddhi Byanjankar, Advisor at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and former captain of the national football team, Upendra Man Singh.

As stipulated by the agreement, Li-Ning will provide jerseys and all other sporting materials required for international competitions to Nepal’s senior national men’s and women’s teams, as well as the U-18 team.

During the event, the new red, blue, and white jerseys of the Nepal national basketball team were also officially unveiled.

The new jerseys were revealed by Sadish Pradhan, captain of the national men’s basketball team; Anusha Malla, captain of the national women’s basketball team; and Angila Subba, Li-Ning brand ambassador and captain of the national women’s football team.

NEBA President Bhim Singh Gurung expressed gratitude to Li-Ning for their continued collaboration, emphasizing that the partnership will help promote basketball in Nepal. He also voiced concerns over the government’s lack of prioritization for basketball and the absence of adequate infrastructure such as courts.
