Hark Sampang, Chairman of the Labor Culture Party and leader of its parliamentary group, highlighted the focus on developing a self-reliant economy. During the budget debate, he remarked that the government’s success or failure should be measured by how effectively it has established a self-reliant economy. He noted, “Development has not reached anyone yet. It has not even reached countries like the United States, Japan, or China. Therefore, management is necessary.”
He emphasized that alongside providing quality education for a self-reliant economy, the development of a work culture is essential. Sampang suggested prioritizing internal production and economic self-sufficiency. He also stressed that planning solely based on foreign loans is inappropriate. Addressing Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, he stated, “Our evaluation of success or failure will be based on whether foreign debt has been reduced or increased.” He urged the government to work towards minimizing foreign debt as much as possible.
