With the onset of the monsoon season, herders from Dhorpatan have brought their buffaloes to Thakur, located in Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality-5 of Eastern Rukum. Situated at an elevation of 4,000 meters above sea level, this expansive meadow continues to foster the traditional buffalo grazing lifestyle. Perched at 4,000 meters above sea level in Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality-5 of Eastern Rukum, Thakur is an exceptionally attractive locale. Its vast, lush green pasturelands are currently teeming with herds of buffaloes. With the beginning of the rainy season, herders from the Dhorpatan region have made their way to Thakur bringing their buffaloes. Nestled amidst dense forests and towering Himalayan peaks, this meadow also serves as a temporary settlement for buffalo and goatherders.

Despite the growing influence of modern lifestyles, the ancient herders of Dhorpatan have remained steadfast in preserving their traditions.
