During routine patrols, police teams have arrested 31 individuals found in possession of narcotics from various parts of the country. The arrests were made in districts including Bardiya, Sunsari, Jhapa, Lalitpur, Siraha, and Kathmandu. Confiscated from the detainees were brown heroin, cannabis, and a range of medications that are only available with a doctor’s prescription. (May 31, Kathmandu)
According to the Central Police Information Desk, five individuals were arrested each from Bardiya and Sunsari, four each from Jhapa and Lalitpur, three each from Siraha and Kathmandu, two from Kaski, and one each from Dhanusha, Nuwakot, Parsa, Surkhet, and Banke districts. Alongside brown heroin and cannabis, the police also confiscated pharmaceuticals including Buprenorphine, Phenergan, Diazepam, and Tramadol which can only be purchased with a doctor’s prescription.
