Ram Kumari Jhakri Defends Oli, Asserts ‘Oli Is Not the Only Problem’

Nepal Communist Party (UML) leader Ram Kumari Jhakri has publicly expressed her views on social media in defense of party chairman KP Sharma Oli. She stated that the crises within the party are not solely due to chairman Oli, emphasizing, “In today’s society, anyone can be a problem for someone else. But Oli alone is not the problem.” She urged party leaders Shankar Pokharel and Yogesh Bhattarai to cooperate by saying, “Don’t abandon the chairman; instead, take him along with you.” – Kathmandu, 31 Jestha.

Ram Kumari Jhakri, a leader of the Nepal Communist Party (UML), posted a status defending party chairman KP Sharma Oli on social media. Featuring an image of General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and Deputy General Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai, she clarified that Oli is not the sole cause of the crisis. She wrote, “In today’s society, anyone can be considered a problem like a ‘ba’ (father figure), but Oli alone is not the problem. There are many issues, both internal and external, within society and among us party workers as well.”

Jhakri also clarified why she refrained from calling Oli “ba” out of reluctance. She explained, “I have addressed elder brothers and ‘ba’ intentionally here; it was not a mistake but done knowingly.” Regarding Pokharel and Bhattarai, former presidents of the student wing ANNFSU, she mentioned that she referred to them not as comrades but as sisters. Emphasizing that Oli is not the sole problem at present, Jhakri stressed collaboration. “Do not leave the chairman behind; take him along with you,” she wrote.
