July 16, Kathmandu – Nepal Rastra Bank has set the foreign currency exchange rates for today (Monday). According to the central bank, the buying rate for the US Dollar stands at NPR 151.88, while the selling rate is NPR 152.48. Similarly, the European Euro is fixed with a buying rate of NPR 175.70 and a selling rate of NPR 176.40, the UK Pound Sterling with a buying rate of NPR 203.63 and a selling rate of NPR 204.44, and the Swiss Franc with a buying rate of NPR 190.53 and a selling rate of NPR 191.28.
The Australian Dollar’s buying rate is NPR 107.01 and selling rate NPR 107.44, the Canadian Dollar’s buying rate is NPR 108.57 and selling rate NPR 109.00, while the Singapore Dollar has a buying rate of NPR 118.25 and selling rate of NPR 118.72. The Japanese Yen’s buying rate for 10 units is NPR 9.48 and the selling rate is NPR 9.52. The Chinese Yuan’s buying rate is NPR 22.46 and selling rate NPR 22.55, and the Saudi Arabian Riyal’s buying rate is NPR 40.47 with a selling rate of NPR 40.63.
Other rates set by the central bank include the Thai Baht with a buying rate of NPR 4.64 and selling rate of NPR 4.66; the UAE Dirham at NPR 41.35 buying and NPR 41.51 selling; Malaysian Ringgit at NPR 37.43 buying and NPR 37.58 selling; South Korean Won at NPR 10.01 (per 100 units) buying and NPR 10.04 selling; Swedish Krona at NPR 16.07 buying and NPR 16.14 selling; and Danish Kroner at NPR 23.51 buying and NPR 23.60 selling.
Nepal Rastra Bank also fixed Hong Kong Dollar at NPR 19.38 buying and NPR 19.46 selling, Kuwaiti Dinar at NPR 494.32 buying and NPR 496.27 selling, Bahraini Dinar at NPR 402.81 buying and NPR 404.40 selling, and Omani Rial at NPR 394.47 buying and NPR 396.03 selling. The Indian Rupee is set at NPR 160.00 for 100 units when buying and NPR 160.15 for selling.
The central bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as necessary. It has also noted that exchange rates offered by commercial banks may vary. Updated rates will be available on the Nepal Rastra Bank’s official website.
