Croatia Scores Twice to Equalize Against England in Thrilling FIFA World Cup 2026 Match

Despite England captain Harry Kane scoring twice to give his team the lead, Croatia mounted an impressive comeback in the first half to level the score for the second time. On June 16, in Kathmandu, during the FIFA World Cup 2026 match against England, Croatia’s second equalizer intensified the excitement of the game. Kane netted two goals, but Croatia’s solid first-half performance ensured the match remained tightly contested.

The crucial game at Dallas Stadium saw Croatia’s Petar Musa score a header in the fifth minute of injury time, securing an important point for his team. Earlier, Kane had put England ahead in the 12th minute with a penalty. Although Kane’s initial penalty was saved by Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, the penalty was retaken because Kane had moved forward too early, and this time he converted with ease. The penalty was awarded after Croatia captain Luka Modric fouled England’s Noni Madueke. Croatia responded in the 36th minute when Martin Baturina scored an excellent long-range goal outside the penalty box, assisted by Petar Susic’s lay-off pass, leveling the score once again. However, Kane restored England’s lead in the 42nd minute with a goal from Declan Rice’s corner, making it 2-1.
